Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between quarter round and shoe molding?
Quarter round has an equal profile (for example, WM106 is 11/16" x 11/16"), forming a quarter-circle shape. Shoe molding is typically narrower and slightly taller than it is deep (for example, WM126 is 1/2" x 3/4" and WM129 is 7/16" x 11/16"), creating a slimmer profile along the bottom of the baseboard. Both are commonly used to cover the expansion gap where flooring meets the wall.
What materials are Georgia Molding products made of?
Our moldings are pine — most profiles are primed white and ready to paint, and select profiles (quarter round WM106, shoe moldings WM126 and WM129) are also available unfinished.
What lengths do your moldings come in?
Depending on profile: 7, 8, 12, or 16 feet. For example, primed WM106 quarter round comes in 8, 12, and 16 ft; primed WM126 shoe molding in 8 and 12 ft; baseboards WM623 and WM738 in 12 ft.

How do I estimate how much molding I need?
Measure the linear feet of wall where the molding will run, then add roughly 10% for cuts and waste. Divide by the stick length you're ordering (e.g., 12 ft) and round up to whole pieces.
